Over 500 years ago Christopher Columbus selected the coastline south of Seville as his launchpad for journeys of discovery to America. 20 years after its initial construction, Personal Touch Holidays has entered into an agreement with Melia Hotels and a local golf club to revive what was once the most beautiful lawn bowls playing surface in Spain, located within easy driving distance of both many local monuments to Christopher Columbus and the delightful historic city of Seville.

This project will not only beautify an already lovely bowling green, providing local bowlers with a wonderful facility for many years to come, but will also provide Personal Touch holidaymakers with a highly discounted first class all-inclusive bowls arrangement, together with the opportunity to visit one of the most picturesque historic cities in Spain.

The ‘luxury’ elements of this arrangement derive both from the 4* superior Hotel Melia Atlántico and the scenic landscaping of the golf club within which the bowling green is set. An additional luxury element will be the luxury of bowling on a grass green, lovingly tended to by both expert greenkeepers and enthusiastic local bowlers. Palm trees, bougainvillea, and colourful shrubs abound in the area surrounding the green, and beautiful views over a small unspoilt nature reserve, sandy beaches, and the boundless sea can be enjoyed from many parts of the hotel.

Built on a palatial scale, the Melia Atlántico exudes a somewhat ‘Thousand And One Nights’ Arabian aesthetic and vast areas of tall-ceilinged open space characterise its spectacular interior.
